About the Thinking Ahead Program

Developmental Groupings

Children will be grouped developmentally in these workshops, NOT by chronological age. In order to choose the appropriate level please keep in mind that the teacher will be presenting content, concepts and language typically found in, for example

Level 1     Year 1 – 3

Level 2     Year 4 – 6

Level 3     Year 7 –  9

You place your child in the workshop that best matches their abilities or talents, keeping in mind any prerequisites that may be indicated.

A wide range of individual differences is to be expected in each level and will be catered for by our experienced teachers.

Course costs

Workshop cost is $30 per half day, $60 per full day. Some sessions have an additional materials cost. Course and materials fees are indicated on the course outlines. 


Morning workshops will run from 9 – 12, afternoon workshops from 12.45 – 3.45. Each class will break at an appropriate time for morning and afternoon tea.

Please arrive a few minutes before hand to register.


Workshops will run in the grounds of Murdoch College, in teh grounds of Murdoch University. A map will be available on the website. Parking is available adjacent to the Centre.

What to bring

You will need to bring a folder for any handouts, your pencil case, a hat, water bottle, your lunch and any snacks for morning or afternoon tea.

Some workshops have additional requirements. These will be listed with the course outline.

How to enrol

You can print a copy of the enrolment form by clicking here. Complete all the details on the enrolment form and send with your payment to Thinking Ahead 3/37 Preston St Como 6152. If you are paying by Credit Card you can fax your enrolment on 9474 3462. We will contact you to confirm your enrolment before the program commences. We will communicate with you electronically unless you advise otherwise.

Cancellation and Refunds

The organisers may cancel a workshop one week prior to its advertised date due to lack of enrolments. In this case you will be offered a place in another program, or your money will be refunded.

A refund less 20% administration costs will be made in the case of cancellation by  you up to 7 days prior to the workshop date, provided the the class still reaches minimum numbers.

No refund will be issued for cancellations made within 7 days of the workshop commencing. (Credits will be issued if a medical certificate is provided)


We will ask all participants and parents to provide detailed feedback on the quality of the course(s) attended.
